LITTLE BACKPOCKET GUIDE TO
Prostate pleasure and health
This guide is for anyone curious about prostates. Whether you have one or know someone who does, we’ve got all you need to know about this small but mighty gland.
This booklet is sex-positive, body-positive, and written by and for our communities. We want to empower you to make informed choices about your body, and help you feel seen and heard along the way.
This guide is all about health and pleasure – because both these things are connected. Ready to dive in?
✺ The Love Tank would like to acknowledge the input and guidance of the experts that informed this guide. This includes people who have experience of prostate cancer, and other prostate conditions. We thank those whose experience guided the prostate pleasure sections.
Thank you to the team at Prostate Cancer UK who so willingly embraced this collaboration and who informed it so expertly.

Medical care
✺ Talk to your GP and ask directly about your prostate if it isn’t raised

-
Community and peer support
✺ OUTpatients is the UK’s LGBTQ+ cancer charity, and can connect you with in-person or virtual supports
✺ Macmillan Cancer Support also offers services for LGBTQ+ people living with cancer and their carers or loved ones
✺ Online communities can also provide information and solidarity for queer people facing health issues. Tackle Prostate Cancer provides networks of support groups, including queer focused ones

-
Mental health
✺ Counsellors and therapists can help you process changes. Some therapy centres specialise in LGBTQ+ counselling, and individual counsellors will often show this on their profiles
✺ Switchboard is a support line for queer and trans people. You can chat through any problems you’re facing and they can connect you with mental health services.
✺ Mind is a mental health charity that has online resources for queer and trans mental health.
